Not mine, but i spoke with the original owner and he said that the car was wrecked before he made the 1st payment meaning right quarter replaced both fenders and bumpers, stripes have been changed to white and power steering added. 5 0r 6 owners not 3. The ad is written to read the car is untouched. justa bunch of lies to improve profits. If anyone has any interest in this car i will put you in touch with original owner.

Not many honest people left out there in this hobby, most just out to make the all mighty $$$$$$$$$. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif They will lie just to make a buck. Thanks for the heads up, hope your info will help anyone lookin at the car think twice.

I love this quote:
"I personally stand behind the authenticity and condition of this vehicle."
I hope he is "standing" too close. He may get hit by the asteroid-sized lawsuit for fraud and misrepresentation. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I always wonder how they can claim "completely original" when it's pretty obvious the entire smog system is missing. Makes me wonder about everything else he says.

-----No TCS switch on the intake and the ends of the bolts that come thru the inner fenders under the hood are painted red. Hmmmm........Bill S

Interesting ad copy:
"1 of 4300 made. A judge at a national car show remarked there may only be around 300 left." Does that mean my LS6 is 1 of only around 300 left?
"1970 was the only year they made the 454, special tach and suspension." Talk about trying to sound like you are knowledgable when you don't know what you are talking about.
"To give you an example of his dedication to his cars, I recently sold his 1965 GTO to Paul from Orange County Choppers in NY. The car was so clean you could eat off of the engine bolts on the underside of the car. The owner brought it up on a carrier to show Paul and Paul made sure that the car wasn't going back to NJ.
The owner has taken the same care of this car. I personally stand behind the authenticity and condition of this vehicle."
Classic....caveat emptor....

Just spoke to the current owner. Of all things he is a police officer! I asked about the claim that the car is original paint and he said the person that wrote the ad screwed up and meant it was the original color. He then said that the right quarter was repplaced but everything else was original. I asked about the smog and he said the original owner still had it in his garage and i had asked the original owner about any extra parts he might have and he said that they all went with the car. I can see where this is leading as he will just say "that was what he was told when he purchased the car" wonderful.

And yet, "I can personally stand behind the authenticity...."
Great stuff!

Aside from all that has been noted here at SYC, is it a real car? Can it be a 'real' nice car with the proper attention?

Check out this LS-6, just about as original as you can get, could be a nice benchmark car. I would clean it up and leave it as is:

Being discussed here-
http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=233483
With all the hucksters and cobbled up shaky cars it's nice to see a genuine article. Everyone is grousing about how the poor slob should have 200 pics and all that but clearly the guy doesn't flip cars for a living. Especially like the state inspection slip documenting the odo with less that 2k miles in the last 27 years.

The car was a domed hood, no stripes and no gauges car originally.

He told me he also repainted frame back in the early 80's and kept all the shock stickers etc etc.... I just talked to him 40 minutes ago. He told me the dealer did the stripes http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Looks like someone bought it for $75000. Seems like a good price for that original and clean of a car.
