I would love to see how it would shine up. </div></div> Its sunburnt lacquer. I'm not making excuses but not much will happen. Gots to give us sometime... its a weekend project that is being sorted before cleaned... and boy do we have cleaning! Thanks! Dan |
Re: My '69 Z28 Find
you could consider checking out the blue turtle wax (it has color filler). I used the black stuff on 'blackie', and it works great. I convinced another chap on this website (has a black 69 motion camaro) and he loved it.
I have used the red wax they sell on an old laquer 61 vette I have and it really made the paint pop. all hand application, no buffer. it may hold you over....and could bring the color out. I don't think they are making the blue too much longer, but black and red are still available. take with a grain...(I would go get some though) -bob https://encrypted.google.com/search?hl=e...mp;aql=&oq= |
Re: My '69 Z28 Find
Update...
"XF" on the IBM card must mean 3:73s/M21. Thats what my car has. Had the body bushings replaced along with the clutch. Trans gears look good but its going to be gone through along with the diff which is original (dated 10/68). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...green66/-5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...een66/-3-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...green66/-2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...een66/-1-1.jpg |
Re: My '69 Z28 Find
Sorry for the crappy Blackberry photos... left the camera home, mistakenly.
Axles are good but the diff needs new seals and bearings. Same with the trans. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0430-00087.jpg stamps on the drums http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0430-00086.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0430-00088.jpg |
Re: My '69 Z28 Find
NIce Dan. Love the shots! Not bad for a Crackberry. Do you have the metal ID tag on the drivers side of the tranny. What is that code?

Thanks Sam. Agreed not bad. I do have the tag but not handy. I'll get a photo next week when I see more progress on the car. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: 1969z280</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Dan: Really cool! I owe you an email too... haven't forgotten about it. |

Re: My '69 Z28 Find
Dan - what does the "295" and "296" stamp indicate on the brake levers?
