Took a ride down to the Glen today and met up with Chuck and Rich....What a beautiful setting for a Car Show, Great Weather and about 75 cars showed up for the Inaugural Event.......But......It turned out that we had the only American Built cars that showed up......The young "Flat Belly" crowd is more into the Exotics......Here's some Pic's...

That's not entirely true, I have proof! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

But first I'd like to introduce myself and address your comment about the "flat belly crowd":

My name is Jeremy and together with a hard working team of several other people I run Supercar Saturdays. The event was first conceptualized only 3 weeks before it took place, and as any of you who have run an event of any kind know, there just aren't enough hours in the day so to speak.

We had a lot of things to take care of from developing the website and establishing a team to marketing the event and coordinating with the venue. Since we were pressed for time, the only advertising we were able to get done was internet forums / message boards which posed a few problems:

<ul type="square">[*]There aren't very many classic / vintage / muscle car boards (especially when compared to contemporary cars
[*]The ones that do exist are hard to find as Google mainly turns up the modern, plastic muscle cars
[*]We didn't have established relationships on those boards and in most cases when some new guy who isn't established within the community shows up advertising an event, things don't go smoothly[/list]
I personally sent out email invitations to a hand full of organizations to try and bring a broader selection of cars because to be honest with you, all the newer stuff starts to look the same after a while.

As I said to Chuck over lunch (which he was kind enough to buy me, thanks again Chuck) my personal goal for the June 6th event is to get more participation from the collector crowd to compliment the already stellar participation we have from the contemporary guys.

I need your help! I don't want to be "that guy" showing up at car shows and advertising a separate event, but I desperately want to increase the assortment of cars and think that the older stuff you don't see every day is far more interesting...so, how can I do it? I already put you guys on the logo https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Thanks for reading, now on to the pics of some American cars you missed:

Hope to see you at the next event on June 6th, and please let me know if you have any ideas about how I can go about increasing vintage / collector car participation!

Jeremy

Jeremy said it best, so I won't drone on, but we would definitely like to see more muscle cars at the next event, so tell your friends because we don't know them! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif

Carl,
Looking at the pic in your profile, you were a 'flat belly'. What happened? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif
