Re: HURST SUNSHINE SPECIALS
If you look a the link Pete provided, it shows a document from Auto Club of So Cal describing the Car. The letterhead is from the old Admin office on Figueroa St. in downtown L.A. It's written in third person, but note at the bottom it describes the first registered owner as an Alan D. Jones, but is also signed by An Alan Jones. Not conclusive, but perhaps at one point it did reside in So Cal.

Re: HURST SUNSHINE SPECIALS
I may be wrong but didn't BFG run an ad years ago with a Yellow Hurst Sunshine Special?

Re: HURST SUNSHINE SPECIALS
That car did show up completely restored at a Toronto indoor car show (performance world) in the last 5 years, and was presented by Richard English. Nice car but like most things how believable.

O.K. Charlie what haven't you owned . [ QUOTE ]
I used to own the yellow one. I think that is the only Camaro. I had traded it toward ZL1 # 18. It got restored by Camaro Heaven I think in Canada. [/ QUOTE ] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |

I don't remember where I got it. Somewhere back east I think. A Dr Cruz had owned it. He went to Thailand or someplace like that and had paid storage on the car for a year. He never came back to get the car and could not be reached so whoever was storing it did a Lein sale on it and put it up for sale. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds like the same car to me the man who owned it would have been in the late 80's He was a Asain American It was in Mission Viejo off of marguerite parkway, a friend of mine lived around the corner from him. |

I don't know much about these Camaros.Legendary Motors wants $125k for one.Are they rare or desirable enough to justify the money? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

I am not trying to nit-pick but...after looking at the pictures I noticed that the dash above the radio has the later 1973ish seat belt light. It is odd that when it was restored the correct non-seatbelt light dash was not installed. [/ QUOTE ] For that kind of money you think they would correct that !!! |
Re: HURST SUNSHINE SPECIALS
Wow, I thought I'd look up my uncle's "lost" camaro and this forum pops up. Amazing to read the story and history of what happened to the car after it left our family's hands. This is difinitely the car "that got away" and is very taboo in our family. I should try and post a couple of pics of when it was still in our possesion.
