I pulled the trigger and bought one of the SC200's in the photos with very light tread wear for use as a (prop) spare. Will take and post a couple of pix when it arrives. I have confidence in the seller.

Paul, thank you very much for the information! For future reference can you also post decoding instructions for the Firestone Sport Car 200 tires?

Re: Firestone Sport Car 200 E70 15 Tires - Decode

I hate to tell you but there is no unique sequence in decoding Firestone tires from the 60's and 70's, prior to the U.S. DOT regulations. Tire manufacturers were not required to do so.

The best process is contact Firestone directly and inquire there.

Regards

The original spare in my 9A of 69 built camaro is 001117UL and the YH rim is dated 5/19. Looks like the tire is coded similarly to the May of 69 you have listed.

Re: Firestone Sport Car 200 E70 15 Tires - Decode

Just purchased another Firestone Sport Car 200 tire mounted on an original paint YH wheel. Hoping someone can decode the tire date code (and provide decoding details)?
