I used White Lithium grease on my 67 Muncie shifter and it
works fine to this day. Getting the parts surface really clean
before the grease is the key to it.

Yes Mark, it is performing beyond my expectations! All I can ever remember about those Muncie shifters is from years ago as I posted earlier, take them out and throw them in the nearest dumpster. The one you sold me is excellent!!!! The only piece I am missing now is the brace which goes from the left (driver's) side of the shifter body to the crossmember.

The OEM Muncie shifter will perform ok if you don't shift it too hard
they were not designed for banging gears like the Hurst was

Most people abused them as they wanted to shift like Ronnie Sox so the Muncie shifter got a bad name.
