I believe it was possible to delete the stripe when the car was ordered. I know my 69 Dart Swinger 340 and my 70 Hemi Challenger both came from the factory with no stripes at all. |

I thought I had a good picture of my Uncle's stripe-less '68 R/T, but I'm personally hiding any evidence of it!

Standard R/T stripe was a pinstripe - Bumblebee stripes were a no-cost option.

Re: WIW - 68 Coronet R/T 440
Is the car for sale? Or are you looking to buy it

Re: WIW - 68 Coronet R/T 440
Don, the car might be for sale - it is in my buddy's garage under cover for the last 20 plus yrs.
Like i said earlier, his wife drove it, then it got parked when he was building his DART race car.... He is trying to assess - just keep it or sell it....all depends if the $$ is enticing enough...im trying to help him determine what the $$ is - as is or repair/clean etc and what that $$ is. I might consider to buy it....never owned a mopar ....he did say it ran like a raped ape, all stock!! |
Re: WIW - 68 Coronet R/T 440
I had one of them 10 years ago and it ran strong. I'd like to have another and I'm a sucker for blue/ white combo cars. Keep me posted please.

Re: WIW - 68 Coronet R/T 440
In high school circa 1977 a buddy of mine had a 68 Coronet RT 440 Auto and it had rip your neck off torque, and would light the tires up at will. Lots of memories with that car. BTW, his uncle gave it to him when we were 16. IMO, wrong kind of car to get when you are 16 .
