I don't have my picture files handy, but I'm pretty sure that the gears should be date stamped pretty close to the rear assembly date.

So you're saying that the spider gears are stamped with a date on COPO units? Where? I haven't had this particular unit apart but I've had plenty of standard units apart and have never seen the spider gears stamped with anything. |

I don't know about the spiders but the ring and pinion should be dated with the ratio.

He is talking about the 226 and 228 ring and pinion...with a June dated 234 carrier .....the ring and pinion are usually dated May and June
