In the legends class at the camaro national's you get bonus points for originals

Re: R59 date code
As for the battery pictured above, it would not be correct for a 69. It does indicate 'Energizer' on the top.
With regard to reproduction batteries; thank goodness they are available but the differences between repop and real are readily apparent. Some judging bodies deduct 50% for a repop. |
Re: R59 date code
Mark,
Not sure I understand. Where does the above photo show "Energizer on the top"? If not correct for 69 (service replacement), what is it correct for? Which battery is correct for 69 Chevelle BB? Thanks |
Re: R59 date code
I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I was stating what you already know; it isn't assembly line correct. It will surely work just fine.
My bad. |
Re: R59 date code
Got it. Yes, I understand that it is not assembly line correct.

Re: R59 date code
There is a fellow, in FL, with original assembly line R59 batts. He can date them to match any car.

Re: R59 date code
Mark, Do you have a contact for the fellow in Fl.?

Re: R59 date code
Yes...
Frank Tetro 321-794-2511 Cocoa, FL You can discuss with him the 'best measures' to maintain a long and happy life of the battery. I have an original R59, correctly dated, for my 69 Camaro. I will say, the battery will not be cheap. |
Re: R59 date code
Would the assembly line batteries be dated at the factory? Wouldn't the trim tag establish the beginning of the warranty?
