The white trim tags have been debated for years. I don't believe there is any question that SOMEONE at Norwood was painting them; but I don't believe a distinctive pattern has been discovered.
I believe Phil (70COPO ??? not sure of his name here) has some contacts with Norwood workers. Seems I remember him posting a reason provided by one of those workers. |
My 1967 z/28 was a Van Nuys built car and it had white overspray on the tag, but it was from the white stripes I believe. :)

That is what I remember reading. I know there was a thread on the white trim tags over on the CRG site, but I couldn't find it.
