I am guessing the correct length heater hoses were too much trouble?

And the correct air cleaner :)

I assume they increased the compression when the engine was rebuilt for a few more horses? Dyno numbers still seem low.

Being an 03B it is a little early for the shorter heater hose routing. The earliest I have seen with this hose routing is 03D. Anyway sometime around March April of 73 the hoses did get shortened and routed similar to the hoses on the subject car; about the same time the 73 headliners changed. The short hose configuration was the norm in 74.

Thanks for the info, I learned something today! It does have the board style headliner.

That car was sold in the mid $30. the car has had some paint work. the driverside front fender by the headlight had paint chipped of to bare metal and surface rust. It was also in a minor accident very early in its life. i spoke with the original owner when it was for sale at a car show in spring green wi.

....and that's about right for it IMO. OO was asking $39K for it in his ad on nastyz28 site. Love how the current owner is 'threatening' to take it to B-J or some big auction if he doesn't get his asking price.....yeah, that strategy always works well :stupid:

I talked to the OO a couple times on the phone and your info aligns with the conversations I had with him. We were talking about some mid 30’s numbers back then but it didn’t work for me due to shipping and known issues with the car at that time. The OO was a really nice guy and was very forward with info. I wish the current owner good luck with his sale.

Yes you could buy a 73 Z28 without a radio of any kind. Of the approx. 97,000 Camaros produced in 1973 only a little over 86,000 had a radio of any kiind in it. Also if you didn’t order a radio you didn’t get the windshield antenna. Out of all the 2nd Gen Camaros I have owned or seen, I have only seen one without the windshield antenna, and it was a Z28.

Nope, re-read what I posted.....no stereo radios or tape players from the factory in any 73 Camaro. Factory options were limited to either a pushbutton AM radio or a pushbutton AM-FM (monaural) radio. Single rear speaker was also an option with either radio. The 73 Z28 that I bought new had the U69 AM-FM ($135.00) and the U80 Rear Speaker ($15.00) options.
