For what it's worth, I have done business with Paul in the past and he has always been a stand-up guy with integrity. Give him a call if you're interested in the car...I'm sure he will represent it accurately.

Thank you Tony. I included my phone number, because I feel this is a car that would be best described over the phone or in person. The car is in back of a barn with no lights. The car has low mileage, around 25,000. The interior is intact and original but needs to be restored due to the California heat and mice. The floors need work from the rubber mat. The front clip is there but off of the car and one of the front fenders had been replace due to damage to the original one. The rest of the front clip and body has the original paint. The paint is in poor condition, but original. The quarters don’t look bad. The front subframe is on the car with the original 400 crossmember in place and the 3/8 fuel line. It is what it is, a 1970 375/400 3:73 12 bolt, original black car. The storage is going away, so the first $6500 takes the car. I have received multiple phone calls from around the country, multiple people have showed a lot of interest, but no one has pulled the trigger or seen the car in person. My next add will be parting out a 1970 375/400 3:73 12 bolt, original black car.

Sounds like a cool Nova...I should know since we have a black 70 L78 TH400 bench seat car in the collection. Just curious about the 3.73 gear reference...as far as I know 3.55 was the most you could get in 70.

Hope someone connectas with you and gets it back on the road...good luck.

I apologize, never checked the rear end gears. I was told 3:73, but could possibly be 3:55 or a 3:55 rear that the gears were changed.

No need to apologize...the 3.55 ratio was the 'default' gear for the L78, but you had to order the posi option. There are some cars that folks ordered a milder gear like 3.31, but they are rare. The axle code should be CBT for a 3.55 posi. Gear swaps were common back then, usually to a 3.73 or 4.10...the motor really wakes up with a little more gear.

A 'correct' missing motor will be easier to find than the tranny...the CW coded TH400 is kind of rare...I have only seen a handful for sale over the years, of course you can build any good TH400 to the high-perf specs.

Thank you for the insight! I am more of a first gen Camaro guy. I love Nova’s but these details are all new to me.

Price reduced to $6000. Despite a couple dozen calls and a lot of interest, no one has come out to look at the car. Most inquires have been a considerable distance away. The car is real and a diamond in the rough.
