Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
Even if there was a slim to none chance I could afford it, I don't think it would fit in the garage, unless I took it apart. Warren

Then there is the 8 mile 57 T-Bird I heard about. Bought it for his wife and she didn't like the color so he parked it. Not sure what the condition was or where it went....

Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
That's really low mileage....still have the nubs on the tires? There was a guy here who raced a '69 Z/28 he had purchased new. It still had the plastic on the seats and as best I remember it even had the Norwood sticker on it. He raced in in Super Stock and M/P locally. It was really a neat car and was always kept mint... Hugger Orange with white stripes and interior. It was a race car all it's life but other than some lettering, headers, and removal of the smog it could have been mint.

Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
or how about the red '59 Impala with .08 of a mile. The owner bought it, brought it home and parked it on stands in a climate controlled room and it hasn't moved since. There was a big article in I believe Super Chevy a few years ago about the car. Really neat.

Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
There is a pair of consecutive vin # 67 427/435 hp Corvette's, Rally Red, convertible
and coupe from Grand Rapids, Mich. that were ordered with no fluids and to date have never had fluids in any compartment including the battery. They were publicly shown for the first time at the St. Ignace car show in June 2000 and are still owned by the original owner, who due to an accident at home is now a quadraplegic. Anyone care to guess as to what these units might be worth? |
Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
I don't know what I would do with a 24 mile LS6. I couldn't own it and not drive it, but then putting any mileage on it would hurt the value. I guess it might make a good coffee table.

Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
It always makes me wonder what kind of person buys a brand new and never ever drives it. 30 years later it's cool, but you have to wonder about the original owner. Were they insane, eccentric, or just a little weird?

Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
Lets see.....purchase price approximately $4200, selling today at $200,000. $6000 per year profit...........I quess that makes him a smart invester.
Personally I could not own a car like that and not drive it. https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/laugh.gif |
Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
I was not aware the car sold at $200K, also the original owner is not the present owner. I doubt original owner received even close to that amount when he sold it.

Re: 1970 LS/6 Chevelle with 24 original miles
Speaking of GNX's.We sold one of the two we recieved at Bauer Buick, for $55,000 back in 1987-88. That was quite a large sum for a Buick back then!
