Re: Clone Yenko on ebay is using fake picture!
Bobby,
What do you think you have an SS Chevelle sold from Nickey or a Conversion car? What info do you have which makes you believe it is a Nickey Chevelle? |
Re: Clone Yenko on ebay is using fake picture!
Well when I had the car stripped to bare metal there were 2 extra holes in the front fenders above the crossed 396 flags,we had no idea as to what they were for so they were welded up,after talking to some people and explaining the holes I was told it could possibly be a Nickey car.I had never heard of Nickey at that point.I purchased the car from the second owner. He had purchased the car from the owner that had bought the car from Bud Moore chevrolet in Houston Texas as a used car.The car was stolen from the first owner and stripped. When I say stripped they took everything except for the rearend. The second owner remembers the extra holes and used bondo to fill them in.I went back to the guy I bought the car from and he told me how to contact the guy he bought the chevelle from.I contacted this person that has now passed away and was in very poor health and his memory was not the best, but he told me the car was a special high performance car when he purchased it.He stated at the time it was the only one around Houston of its kind,I asked about the emblems that went in the extra holes and he did not remember exactly what they were, I did not mention Nickey to him for I did not want to put words in his mouth, the old guy suffered from alzheimers and a host of other medical problems and passed away 2 months after I spoke on the phone too him.I had asked about any old photos of the car but he had none and had no old paper work on the car. Also tho old guy has no living relatives that I can contact.I have tried to contact some old employees of bud moore chevrolet but have had no luck.I had the state run a title search but they can only go back to 1982 which shows the guy I purchased the car from.So at this point I have no definite proof, but still searching.I know this story sounds far fetched but it is true. When I disassembled the car I could tell that the front clip was original to the car and had never been removed.Thats all I know at this point.

Bobby,
Not to offend but as a matter of fact based on what you stated you have nothing to lead anyone to believe that you have a Nickey Chevelle, but for two holes in the fenders? Was the car purchased new at Nickey Chevrolet? |
Re: Clone Yenko on ebay is using fake picture!
Nickey didn't use a 2 hole emblem!!

Re: Clone Yenko on ebay is using fake picture!
I never stated it was a Nickey car, just a possibility going by what some have told me about the fender emblems. To my knowledge the car was not sold at Nickey but from Bud Moore Chevrolet in Houston.I was thinking it might be a possibility and possibility only that Bud Moore may have had it converted.I know from talking to some people that some dealers did this sort of thing(had cars converted) at least what I am told. Anyway it doesen't really matter too me if it is a real Nickey car or not, it would be nice if it was, I guess for the status of owning a real Supercar. But I never intend to sell the car regardless.I am going to put a few Nickey items on the car to make it a clone!! I will keep searching to find the true history of the car anyway.May or may not ever find out but when something new pops up I will check into it, I may never find the complete story of the car.But when I am finished with it I will send you guys some pictures of it. Should not be too much longer before she is complete just putting on some finishing touches.Regardless it will be a nice car Nickey or not.It will have a 396/375 hp specs, everything except the block is new,GM steel crank, H beam rods, crane solid lift cam, crane lifters, pro magnum pushrods, full roller rockers, keith black pistons, speed pro file fit rings, edelbrock aluminum heads, edelbrock aluminum intake, custom built Davinci Holley carb, center force dual friction clutch, new richmond 6 speed trans, custom built drive shaft, original gm 12 bolt 373 posi. Painted with PPG base coat clear coat, custom mix neon blue paint(just a little darker than marina blue with a bit of metalic)Car has been through a complete frame off restoration.Car is a real 138 car, buckets seats ,console factory air and factory power steering,I added front disc brakes just to slow her down a bit,I think you guys will like the pics I send you.BUT REMEMBER SHE IS A CLONE!!! And thanks for the information all you guys have supplied me with on supercars.I don't think there is a nicer bunch of folks anywhere than right here on the super car registry site.

Evidently he does not care, as I sent him an email from the sYc Monday evening, informing him that the picture was the property of the sYc. Tom

Re: Clone Yenko on ebay is using fake picture!
Has anyone emailed the high bidder informing him about the picture?

Re: Clone Yenko on ebay is using fake picture!
Maybe since he won't respond, somebody should bid on the car and then retract their bid. When you retract a bid, you must then explain why you did. The explanation could point out the Fraud involved and anyone looking at bid history will be warned. Maybe we can all bid on it
