Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
Stephano,
I think we have all but tapped the available cars, now we have to start digging deep and finding the forgotten cars. As this year has proven, there are MANY out there, we just need to follow up on every lead no matter how rediculous they may sound. That is how I found the '69 L-72 Impala convertible. Not real interesting too many but very rare none the less. |

I'll take one L72 drop top Impala that is.

Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
Marlin,
I was told that my old deuce was the one that supercars now owns. I was told that the restoration was done by a guy from Kentucky, I think Dave tinnel(spelling?} Am I getting my cars confused? |
Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
bill,
if it was owned by carl dwiggins , it was probably dave tinnells restoration! |
Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
Hey Bill;
Yes, that's your old car. I also heard that Tinnell did the resto, probably redid what this other guy did. |
Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
Kevin;
I'm not sure what you mean by the post about the Yenko Novas are red hot? Are you referring to the red Yenko Nova? |
Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
Yep, my Red Deuce was restored by Dave Tinell. Dave also did the White 67 Yenko for me (now owned by Holub) that was at the Reunion. Those that have seen Dave's work know his craftsmanship to be among the finest. My Red Deuce shows virtually no aging. It is true, as Marlin pointed out, that there were some previous minor incorrect parts that Brian and others have now corrected.

Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
Supercars,
Alot of the correction work on your deuce was done by bob harris at camaro specialties. We redid the interior in the correct fabric, we redetailed the engine compartment correctly put on the 70 grill put the correct sill plates on put the power steering back on the car and removed the rug and put in the rubber mat. From my research alot of the things that were done incorrectly were the norm at the time of the restoration. I learned alot about the mistakes from marlin when i showed the car at the nova nationals in Harrisburg PA several years ago. |
Re: Does any one know these Super Cars
Okay, I knew there were others besides Brian. Bob Harris is good too. He restored my Berger COPO Camaro, and it is an excellent restoration.
I had to chuckle when I first read your post where you said you learned alot of mistakes from Marlin. I thought: "he can't be saying Marlin is teaching guys how to make mistakes"??? Just kidding Marlin. |
