Re: My 69 L89 conv,

that is stiff money at that time i was buying the trade in SS Chevelles and Camaros on the back lots of the local chevy dealer for about 250 to 600 bucks back then because of the gas crisis you couldn't give a big block away at that time.

Re: My 69 L89 conv,

So is the car a real JL8 4 wheel disc brake car or a heavy duty service package rear disc car? I would definitely think that an L89 JL8 RS/SS conv is probably as desirable as the 68 Z28 conv. The ultimate in my mind would still be a ZL1 with JL8 4 wheel discs like the engineering car.

well i should have finished the paragraph on my web page the disc brakes were added by me last year they are jl8 flavor it took me 8 years to come to the decision to add them to my car, my oldest son talked me into it he is in the pro touring scene, He said i was stuck in 1969 because i didn't want to remove the XT rims and dog dish caps- Dennis.

Instead of your son bringing you to the present from 1969, perhaps you should knock your son from the present back to 1969 - you gotta keep your roots!.....

Love to see that WS. You weren't supposed to be able to order the V01 HD rad on a BB.

Finally a dealer from my neck of the woods.
Never heard of Vic Farrah getting other GM test / fleet vehicles.
Still have the 73 Vette brochure I got from them.

Re: My 69 L89 conv,

I do know of an L89 JL8 hardtop. I have not seen any paperwork on the car, but from conversations with the owner it appears to be legit and no, he has no intentions of ever selling it. When you start combining options like the L89, RS/SS, conv, JL8, Pace Car, they all are very rare and desirable, and I would imagine quite expensive back in 69.

Re: My 69 L89 conv,

From what Vic (Vic Farrah) had told me he had a inside line on all test mules and fleet cars he also told me of the chevy brass sending him to meadville in 1960 with the chairman of the boards ( Ed Cole) 348 tripower 59 impala demo, which as of the early 90s the car still resided in meadville-Dennis.

Re: My 69 L89 conv,

the L89 Camaros were pretty rare but they werent uncommon to me i grew up an army brat and the one thing the GIs were into was muscle cars i was in virgina in 1970 and my father me and a salesman took a Lemans blue 69 yenko camaro for a thrill ride from colonial chevrolet i will never forget it the smell the sound and the feel of that car, he retired from the army in 73 and we moved back to western PA we use to call it hot rod valley, there were a lot of muscle cars in that area things like chevy big blocks were common except the Zl-1s i do not remember any in that area, maybe in the cleavend area-Dennis.
