Re: Muncie 4 speed ID info
I have never seen a close ratio to have a "Ring" on it. I would like to see a coarse spline close ratio in a Muncie. They only existed in a BW to the best of my knowledge.

Re: Muncie 4 speed ID info
*All* pre-1970 Muncies & M22's were coarse splined.
Fine splines were intro'd in 70. |
Re: Muncie 4 speed ID info
I have a coarse spline M-22 built in 72 and stamped CT. Over the counter replacement for 69. 661 case. Tim.

Re: Muncie 4 speed ID info
Seems to be a lot of mis-information in this thread..
Maybe this will help http://www.gearzone.net/muncie2.htm |
Re: Muncie 4 speed ID info
Thanks for putting the gearzone site on here Zman. The information on this site confirms what I was trying to say earlier. If you check the years that the 10 spline ended and the 26 began for rockcrushers, 69-70 has overlaping production. Kevin

I don't agree with that and neither does Colvin. Colvin went thru the Muncie records, it's all in his CBTN books. The fine spline was launched on Chevelles with M22 in 70. Fine spline became available in 71 on the M20 and M21. *ALL* 69 Muncie 4 speeds had course splines. |
