Camarojoe created a monster! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif

I developed a new appreciation for people that collect stuff like this. Unlike general Chevrolet stuff, dealer specific memorabilia is VERY hard to find especially when you limit it to just one city and the immediate surrounding area. The NOS dealer decals are definitely the hardest items to find. Unlike emblems that you can find in a junk yard it is very hard to find dealer decals that have NOT been stuck on a car. About 98% of Chicago area dealers used decals after the 1950's.

SORRY to hijack this thread! Tom, I think this would be a very cool thing to do since a good majority of the sYc members are from around the Chicago area. We also had some of the most noted dealers in our back yard! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

I wouldn't call them little Dealerships. Nickey Chevrolet and Mr, Norm's were the highest Volume dealerships in the World for their respective makes back then.

BTW, Great Idea!

That's a pretty cool site Frank. Hey Bob, they have your favorite store listed there. "Korvette's" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Thats really great stuff Frank!
Sure looks awesome sitting there all together.
Some of those Nickey Items I have never prior to this post.
I got some more work to do then... (haha).

This could be going somewhere Tom and Rob. Maybe each show you sub-showcase a different region and the dealerships of the day. Look at lower Westchester and Long Island... Baldwin, Mack Markowitz, Curry, Bryne Bothers, Soundveiw etc. Or PA with Yenko and its web of dealers...

Seems like a good idea you guys sparked here.

Frank, that is a fantastic collection, how did you go about collecting all the items.? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif, Do you every find much on ebay, or Car shows that people have these for sale....It would be great to see you, Joe Barr, and others that have such items to bring then to the SCR and place them in one large display......Kasey
