Re: milan drag strip 1968
Peter,
I'll check some periodicals this weekend. There's a slight possibility I could find something. Was the car only raced in '68? Was it lettered or named so it could be identified in a black&white photo? What class did it run? Those clues will help. Verne https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/laugh.gif |

Thanks Pal I realy could use some help in this research. I am including a web site that shows one of his cars on the line white camaro. The black car had no letering it was black and he did hold the class record. I have a pic of the race track award certificate however the flash from the camera hid that info. He went 10:50s I will hopefuly some day get a copy of the award as he did not want to part with the origional. http://home.cogeco.ca/~trthistory1/history.htm hope that helps Peter |
Re: milan drag strip 1968
Pete,
You say, "one of his race cars"., but I don't know if you're talking about the black car or not. (painted white??) You've lost me https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif. If I'm going to try to help you I need to know the external description of the car back then, the class it ran and the year(s) it ran. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |

Verne
The black car 68 Camaro ran from march of 1968 to about 1970 In march of 1968 an article was written in the Detroit Free Press about this car and the record it set. I am curently trying to get a copy of that article in the automotive section.I think it ran modified production(427 425 hp) There must be a list of the IHARA records set at the track for the year 1968. The car was and is a black on black 68 Camaro converted to a 427 by MOtion.Thats all I can provide you with today.I am in the process of getting more info. If you require the name of the Owner I will send it to you in a private email. Peter |
