Hey Helmut , Maybe we should do a swap !!!! Do I have anything you want ?? Thx Bob [/ QUOTE ] Don't get me started Bob... everything you've got would look great in my garage! Pete... I only know of L35 and L34 models being available in 67 SDs. This is documented as an L34 350hp 396. I don't know about 360 hp models being available? As for the bump hoods... I know the SD was offered as an RPO option on the early models like this one. Then (some time between October and December the SD's got their own model number 73837 (73867 for convertibles). GM of Canada says there were only 66 of the 73867 models made... so if there were 70 made, this would be one of only 4 early cars with the SD offered as an option. I've got a theory that the early cars might not have received the bump hood. The early Beaumont dealer brochures showed the SD's with a flat hood and the later brochures showed them with a bump hood. I haven't found anyone that can say one way or the other. |
Re: 1967 Beaumont Sport Deluxe convertible
The GM of Canada papers show how many were sold in Canada. They don't show the few that went to other countries like New Zealand and Australia. One articla I read on the 68 SDs said there were 702 coupes built, 680 stayed in Canada and 22 left the country. I saw a 68 SD at a show in South Carolina last year. The GM paperwork shows 680 built and sold in Canada.

I was referring to 67 SD convertibles... the GM of Canada documentation says "NUMBER PRODUCED FOR SALE IN CANADA 73867 MODEL NO. ONLY) was only 66. |
