Re: Engine choices for Straight Axle AWB 60's
[ QUOTE ]
There was a guy in a couple of towns over, when I was in high school in the 60's, that had a straight axle 66 nova. Wheelbase wasn't altered, just a straight axle from a ford econoline I think. He had a 302 from a wrecked Z in it. It was impressive. Scared the hell outta a lot of Detroit muscle. [/ QUOTE ] My dad did something similar one state over from you. 66 Nova with the 302/4 speed/ rear end out of the 68 Z28 (bought new) he totaled out in 69. This Nova didn't have a straight axle though. Car ended up with a tunnel ram/holley 660's, roller cam, etc in the early 70's before being sold off the family dealerships used lot. The buyer killed himself in it a month or two later near Boscobel WI street racing it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif Last I heard, about 20 years ago, the 302 was on a stand somewhere around Dodgeville WI. |
