Cool car, looks like drip rail, door frame and body side moldings. I like the crimped heater core outlet, looks like a disc brake hose bracket with the correct attachment bolt to the upper a-arm, somebody didn't like that heater box eh? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Funky looking blower motor, but might be the angle of the pic!

Re: Need Help Deciphering Trim Tag for 1969 Nova S
Thanks everyone!! That one photo of the car was taken back in 1979 when she was only 10 years old. The lady needs to have the restoration someone else started completed and will be restored right. I don't know why someone made those two (2) holes in the heater core unless it was an ac car.

Re: Need Help Deciphering Trim Tag for 1969 Nova S
Nah, couldn't get a/c on a BB Nova, and a/c cars didn't have that core cover - they had the big 'suitcase'.
Have you searched for/found the broadcast sheet? |
Re: Need Help Deciphering Trim Tag for 1969 Nova S
Marlin
I haven't searched around yet for the broadcast sheet because I have a bunch of car parts piled up in the back seat. Once I get the car all emptied out and the parts organized inside my garage, I will then search for one. would a 454 Chevy engine with Merlin heads, Edelbrock manifold, etc. before well in this 69 Nova SS or should I just stick to a 396? |
Re: Need Help Deciphering Trim Tag for 1969 Nova S
That's a hard call, as there are many Novas out there that have all the L78 signs/parts - but no documentary engine block or paperwork.
I'd search for that broadcast sheet real hard before deciding how to restore it, bec/ if you find that sheet and it has the L78 code on it - then it's a documented car and well worth sticking with the 396. |
