Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Another couple of years and it probably would have started to rot..fortunately it was in So Cal in a tow yard and had been through a lien sale... I found it and was fortunate enough to have been able to buy it. MacNeish saw the car and said even the points in the distributor were original https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Cool pictures Dog, where was the one with the red vette on top of the pile taken?

Steve
That shot was taken in the late eighties I think somewhere up Bronx - Mt. Vernon area, but I'm not positive. Glenn |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
The pic of the vette on the pile is on Boston Road right near the boarder of the bronx and pelham. The Getty station is now a Lukoil gas station. It's off the Boston Rd exit on Hutch. There used to be an old Mobil station next to it. That went out of business about 4 or 5 yrs ago.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
ha! Lemme dig up picks of the Coronet pre-resto, you ain't seen nothing yet. I am in the heating and cooling business and spend a lot of time driving around the country side in the area and everywhere I go I see all sorts of forgotten muscle dying of cancer. I'll take my camera to work next week and post some photos. There is a guy about 30 minutes north of here who has 20-30 68-89 vettes and camaro's in a circle facing his building. It will make you cry. I've never been able to catch the guy there and no one seems to know who owns the place.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Not muscle but interesting!
An old barn on a back road near me recently fell apart, and exposed this '57 Lincoln that hasn't seen the sun in years. http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/linc3.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...7435/linc2.jpg |

That's some https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif stone work---Do you know the story on this car or is this fella gonna wait till it takes the gravity elevator to the first floor........

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
a good sized cherry picker with some tami-lift boat straps will get that out. I think it IS muscle for its day. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I'd be willing to make an attempt to get it. The ramp going to the door is all dirt and rock. "Should" be able to just hook a strap up and pull it out. Most of those structures are well built and solid until the wood rots. Not uncommon to see buildings like that in the area. All stone shells, wood is long gone. Looks like they already braced the retaining wall on the ramp. Well, somewhat braced. Any idea who owns it?

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I have gone by this house, left notes with my name and number on the door several times to no avail. The back of the house is rented out and those people of course know nothing and can't help. There has been a '66 Mustang sitting outside for 15+ years. It looks like it was in very nice shape when it was parked - But...... This Lincoln will probably go down the hard way before anyone makes up their mind what they want to do with it.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Dog, you should be able to get the mailing address of the owner at the local tax assessors office. It is a matter of public record and there should be no fee involved to view the tax bill and who is paying it. Good Luck
and your photos rock !! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
That Lincoln is a '56. There were two models, as far as I know - Capri and Premiere, with the latter being the top trim level. I think they are the best year for the era.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
WOW it looks like the barn belongs in Bam Margera's back yard along with that castle he lives in over there in Westchester... are there alot of structures like that up there?
PLEASE do not let Bam get ahold of the Lincoln... it would be turned in to a Skate car or worse... |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
No rotting muscle cars in this one, but here in Maryland there are alot of barns. This is in my backyard and being renovated at this time.
