Bruce and Lynn, you have one special daughter and for us one very special friend who we like to call our step daughter. LOL She is quite an amazing young lady not only in what she has overcome but in what she continues to do with her life and not let this slow her down one bit. I can't give all the credit to her as she also has some remarkable parents! Thanks to all the years that were given to all of you from the donor.

I am glad that you guys enjoyed it. Like one of the PM's that I got...it helps to fill in some of the 'back story' as well.

Also remember that our own SC69Sam also has a child that was given the gift of life as well...this is one part of the power of God that is truly amazing.

It was good for me to revisit this again...as we sometimes forget where we came from...I had a good cry myself! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

It's been a pleasure to meet this entire family and spend time with them. If you ever wonder how a 'family' should work, just sit back and watch Bruce, Lynn and Holly. We can all take a few lessons.

I think I'll call my kids now.

Thanks Bruce. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Wow Bruce ! This is all news to me . What an inspirational story . Thanks for sharing your families history and you wonderful daughters story for all of us who had no idea .

I am a little mad at my son right now and was going to ride him like Zorro today , but after reading this I think I will just give him a hug and tell him I love him… he is going to give me the Scooby Doo double take like “ what the heck is going on “ but you know what , I just can’t be mad today https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Jackie Speier is a super nice lady and is my sisters neighbor. Very well liked in our town

Van...awesome! I'll have to scan another pic that you can take to your sister to give to Jackie. Jackie is sure an inspiration!

From Wikipedia...but I already knew this https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Congressional aide
Main article: Leo Ryan
Speier served as a congressional staffer for Congressman Leo Ryan. Speier was part of the November 1978 fact-finding mission to investigate allegations of human rights abuses by the Reverend Jim Jones and his Peoples Temple followers, almost all of whom were American citizens who had moved to Jonestown with Jones in 1977 and 1978.[6] Speier was one of only two members of the mission who were concerned enough about potential violence to make out a will before traveling to Jonestown.[11] Several Peoples Temple members ambushed the investigative team and others boarding the plane to leave Jonestown on November 18. Five people died, including Congressman Ryan. While attempting to shield herself from rifle and shotgun fire behind small airplane wheels with the other members of the team, Speier was shot five times and waited 22 hours before help arrived.[12] The murder of Congressman Ryan was the only assassination of a Congressman in the line of duty in the history of the United States. [13]

That same day, over 900 of the remaining members of the Peoples Temple died in Jonestown and Georgetown. Among historic mass suicides, it was the largest such event in over 1,900 years

Wow Bruce...even knowing Holly's story I had serious goosebumps reading these newsclippings!.
How about posting one of your beautiful girl's grad pics again?.

Like Van, one of my lads was destined for some serious discipline when I'm home from work tonight...he's not quite off the hook yet but will have no idea any leniency is a result of dad's dumb car-site!.

Love the hugs shot best too!.
