I'm very certain that the VIN tag is OEM although I'd like a better pic to confirm. The trim tag judgement cannot be made without a better quality photo.

For education purposes, what's the issue with the TT picture?

I was just checking the ridiculous finale bid on a BAT auction of a ‘63 Split Fuelie.

Noticeable sanding under it’s VIN for the spot weld procedure.

Cool, at least that one is done a little more carefully than the one we were discussing.


I thought of this today too, while using my spot welder at work and had to sand off the paint to get it to work properly...:grin:

Bad quality. The best way to photograph a mid year Corvette trim tag or VIN tag is by holding the camera or phone upside down to allow the flash to hit the tag directly. This is only after a thorough wipe down with paint thinner/wax and grease remover/brake cleaner

----This tag is far more the norm than the perfect condition tag above.....Bill S
