Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
Rob;
I was just talking with my wife last night about the various long distance car events this summer. I would like to go to all of them of course, but vacation time is always limited. My first priority is to finish my car, after 5.5 years I am getting anxious. I would like to go to the NNNova Nationals in Indy this summer, because that is where my car was sold new and my original owner might attend as well. I would like to finally get to the Yenko Reunion, and make another visit to the Pure Stock drags. Without a truck and trailer, these events are going to be difficult!! I might borrow some frequent flyer miles in order to attend the reunion, but we will see how things progress throughout the summer. M [Edited by YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY (04-26-2001 at 11:04 AM).] |

Marlin; Glad to hear you vidiotaped that race. It's one of the few times I've ever managed to stay in front of Randy's car. Glad it's documented. Please find out if Neil is coming as it will make a considerable difference as to how much beer I need to bring! https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/laugh.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/laugh.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/laugh.gif
As far as me being in Ohio. I will most definitly be there unless something stupid happens. There are too few of these events and I intend to support all of them I can. I think Brad is trying to put on a top notch event and will. It may take him a few years to know exactly what he wants but I'm confident he'll get it all figured out. Peter |
Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
Pete:
What car(s) will you (or JJ) have at Ohio? Is JJ going to certify his Nova as well? M: It's too bad Neal won't have the L-89 Nova back https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif. Any chance he might bring his "other" Nova out to play? |
Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
Rob;
Neal just received his current project back from the stripe shop; Forest Green, 4speed, Yenko Nova. He will have it at the GM show at Carlisle, but am not sure if he plans to take it to the PS-drags. He might take the Cran-Red Yenko Nova though. M |
Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
Rob; Jimmy J will be at certification. Engine goes on the dyno in a couple of weeks. Could get interesting.

Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
Pete:
Keep us posted on Jimmy's dyno results! What kind of times has his Nova ran so far, with the "old" engine? Seems like I remember him running 12.7s(?) at Michigan with it last year? M: Maybe I will run into you or Neil somewhere, who knows!? It would be neat to see a larger Supercar showing at the Pure Stock Drags! |
Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
Rob/Pete;
I will keep you posted on any Yenko Novas that might be attending the PS-Drags. At this time, I don't know of any - but hopefully that will change over the summer. M |
Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
OK small block Nova guys...as you can see, we have a fellow GM boy lurking around here, running one of those "other" small blocks. If you don't remember, Casey Marks (F-85 W-31 Olds) has been at the PSMCDR the last 3(?) years, and was recently in the latest small block shootout in MCR. And, if you didn't notice, he was smack dab in the middle 13s! BUT, he is not saying what kind of times he ran the other night at the track...
Anyway, I just thought I would pass along some new member info, and maybe you will *run* into him at the track sometime https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif! |
Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
Rob - don't go gettin' the locals all roused up now....... https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif
PS - I've been doing the PSMCDR before it was even really known as that. When I bought my current house in 1994, a bunch of us (20-25 ??) rented Milan Dragway, and decided to run our pure-stockers. This included Bob, Dan, me, and some other local Michigan boys that are part of what we all now know as the PSMCDR. We were kinda getting homesick for those type of races after the demise of the MuscleCar Nationals from the '80's. After the day at the track, we all went back to my house and had a BBQ, watched old videos, and did some general - good controversial bench-racing. It got REAL interesting when we decided to have a *C-Body MOPAR* shootout in front of my house. My little brother's 69 383 Plymouth VIP against Matt Hammond's (73 401 Javelin fame) 70 383 Dodge Monaco. I've got a pic of us in the road with Brian Stefina (61 283/270 Vette) flagging us down ......... Ahhhhhh - the good 'ole days ...... https://www.yenko.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif |
Re: OK,who has ran thier car at the track?no BS lets see some time slips
So Casey, This is where you guys have been hiding? If you guys(Yenko) will allow a half breed Olds/ Mopar freek to join in, How about lettin' a pure bred Mopar guy hang out also? Mike
