Re: Vintage pics. More extended Z stripes!
Kurt,
Going with the most likely assumption that the extended stripes were added later could it be possible they were added at the factory after all? When painting the stripes at the factory how much longer would it take to extend them to the bottom of the tail panel? It doesn't look like a whole lot of masking and taping was involved. Was there a racing series or other automotive event happening back then that would prompt GM to offer this type of stripes on the cars? I am just curious. I heard that the Carolina Blue car's extended stripes were factory added as well. Just an interested observation with these cars. Rick |

I also think that if the extended Z/28 stripes were any sort of a factory job, even by special request, there would have to be a stencil with a GM part # in some service manual or bulletin somewhere. [/ QUOTE ] This does make a lot of sense to me... |

[/ QUOTE ] That first sentence didn't make a lot of sense. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif It's not a time issue, it's a processing issue. They'd have to be shot in the repair booth and there would have to be instructions more involved than 'make them longer'. No way, it didn't happen. Remember, 900 cars a day..... The Colorado blue car stripes were dealer added. |

I am just glad to see that the little Zap/28 is starting to get some ink for a change. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
