Re: What headers?

All the header paint that I remember, VHT burnt off pretty fast. I shot my Doug's yellow when they were new. Didn't last very long. Most headers I remember were rusty black, with patches of paint that hadn't quite fallen off yet.
You might get that por manifold paint to last on headers. It looks pretty good on manifolds. Personally, I like jet hot. And I do like aluminum slots.

Re: What headers?

The Eastwood Stainless steel paint works well with occasional minimal touch up--I'm guessing the por coating is similar----For maintenace free headers you can't beat the ceramic type coatings,I think they make one that has a satin stainless finish---- Rob---I don't think there's any powder coating that will handle heat demands of headers https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gifIt's a shame---White headers look so https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Re: What headers?

there is a place in town that alumacoats them white or used to???? epa may have got them...only thing they have a little texture at that point...I did many sets in the 80's and they always looked great..the tubes by the ground would get a little brown from the rain as they were on daily drivers..but stayed nice and white up by the heads...Sam, give Machinist Inc a call and see if they still do it if you want to go that way..if I recall they used to charge about 80 bucks if they were clean when you dropped them off...much more if they had to clean them.

One of my favorites from 25 years ago. The 'Crystal Blue Persuader' as seen on the cover of the 1980 Car Craft Camaro Celebration #2. Too bad the bar code got in the way.
