Re: Yenko Backyard
Darren, its hard to see every car clearly, but it appears the cars were all either "hero or zero"... in other words, it looks like COPO cars and plain janer malibus, trucks, and 4 doors. I don't see any Camaros in the pics that look to be anything other than COPO 9737 cars...not that there's anything wrong with that... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Re: Yenko Backyard
The Hugger Orange X-11 car looks like a good match to mine. By the looks of the trees it could fall into that time frame. Trying to get a count of the X-11 cars produced and it is tough going. Just found my first O2D X-11 Yenko, most of the X-11 cars have been O3B builds. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Yenko Backyard
Any idea what the volume of the standard HP cars were? Wondering since Yenko's niche was COPOS if that had any effect on his volume for Z's and SS cars. Just curious cause with all the Yenko lot pictures I have seen you never see any of those in the background. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Yenko Backyard
To be honest, i'm not really sure exactly how many Z/28s, SS, etc cars they sold during the musclecar heyday... i do know of several non COPO musclecars sold through yenko during that timeframe, including a few Z's, but as for actul numbers I don't know. I believe they actually sold alot more non COPO camaros directly through the Canonsburg dealership than 427 cars, as most of the supercars were shipped out to the network dealers across the US.

Re: Yenko Backyard
From the mid-60's through the early 70's Yenko Chevrolet was advertised as "Washington County's Largest Volume Corvette Dealer" and there are still a few Yenko sold mid-70's 'Vettes in the Pittsburgh area. It seems Yenko sold lots of base model pickups and utilty type vehicles as well, as the local blue collar Pittsburgh area demographic created a strong demand for these. CamaroJoe's got a letter from GM thanking Yenko Chevrolet for their continued success in moving large volumes of Chevrolet trucks lying around somewhere.
