Peter,
A lot of record lists for various tracks that were published list class, owner's name, type of car, then ET or mph
The listing could be as obscure as: A/MP, J. Smith, Chevy, 11.39
Do you know if the car had any lettering? The only way for me to find it in either a track record listing or a photo would be by either lettering on the car or the owner's or driver's name in the listing. I can't receive emails here but I can receive PMs here.

By the way, most newspapers saved each copy completely on microfische (sp). I was able to get copies of articles from the Tarrytown (NY) Daily News from June '63.

The first time slip is from 69 when the car ran SS/EA on a 11.60 record in NHRA. The second slip was an AHRA slip and from the m.p.h. was a shut down ,foot on the brakes to keep from breaking out pass.On a full pass the m.p.h. was in the 122-123 range

the cops would probably stop you just to see the car.
Kind of reminds me of the day my wife took my 70 chevelle out one Saturday afternoon while I wacthed the 4 kidies.
When she did not come back after 45 minutes I began to worry
Then all of a suden the chevelle arrived in the driveway
as I aproched her in the driveway with the 4 kidies in tow
2 squad cars came racing one in each direction and stoped behind the chevelle.
Then the both cops asked use who was driving the car because the neighbours had phoned the cops about a person doing smoke shows showing off in front a buch of kids. Well the 4 kiddies ran to their mothers side worried about her mom being in trouble with the cops. Then my wife expained that she was driving and did not know that the car would accelerate so fast and burn the tires the way they did and she did not mean it. The cops looked at the kidies and my wife then said OK then please drive more carefully the next time.Good one EH!

Peter,

That's a classic story......I can visualize her smokin' the hides sayin..."Holy S--T.........."
To change the subject a bit, Canada certainly has their stuff right when it comes to VIN numbers!!! When I bought my 67 SS427 Chevrolet, which was built in Oshawa, I got soooo much info, i laughed at how GM in the US never kept records except for Pontiac! Running the VIN thru The Ministry and also thru George at GM Vintage Services absolutety, positively gAVE ME THE CONFIDENCE TO BUY THE CAR! I wanna break out and sing....OH Can-A-DA.....!! Check out the pic of Canadian Gold!!!
