I just think limiting the Classifieds to paid members ads a level of reponsibility and illiminates the unethical person who couldn't care less about Yenko.net as long as they got their sale.

Re: My .02 on the for sale section

Like it or not, the club is a business with paid "customers" (members) and needs them to offset the operating costs, shows, advertising, etc. It is very disheartening when a "non customer" comes here and uses our club for their sole benefit without contributing anything to the clubs existence. I am not saying that everyone should be a member and actually don't think that would be right to force someone to do that. I am a "member" of a lot of internet clubs without paying dues but if I use those clubs to advertize parts I will join that club which I feel is only fair. What am I getting for my dues here that a non member does not if I do not get any privilages. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif I want the club to remain and therefore feel it is only fair to contribute to that club to help maintain that.

My biggest complaint are the ones that show up, advertise, never respond to all the people that inquire about their parts and then leave. Get the hell out of here if you cannot respond to a simple e-mail from someone TRYING to buy your part. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

I don't have a dog in this poker game but the person that gets the part they need also benefits here....right? If you eliminate non-members, you are going to have a smaller inventory of parts & cars. The non-members will be forced to e-bay.

I think that the most important benefit of this site is the exchange of information and knowledge...selling cars or parts is really a secondary issue to me. The tech/resto section always has interesting stuff....there is a very high rate of first time posts that involve selling something..sellers should have to be paid members or perhaps we should look at what they do on the Team sites with a members only sales section..???

You are either part of the problem or part of the solution....

Re: My .02 on the for sale section

Ive always said that parts for sale are an important part to any website. The problem is that most people that are not members post parts for sale to go fishing for a value. Ive not seen too many cases nor have i personally bought anything from a first time member,in some cases they list a part they dont even have yet, and by the reaction they get here they will know whether they shuld go and buy it.Big waste of time. 25.00 is not a big cost to join if you can come here and learn something about a part that makes you 2000.00 on a sale.

Mark,
I did not state that "non members" should be eliminated. As a matter of fact, many of those same people bring a wealth of information to the site and we have lost some of the best. What I said in short was, if you are only coming here for the sole purpose of selling your part and leaving without contributing to the clubs longevity then please take your business somewhere else. Most of those clowns that have done that have stiffed a lot of people here. Whether you are a paid member or not does not make you immune from getting taken advantage of. I have nothing against readers being non members and as recently as last week I was one of them.

Do these same people expect to go to a local car club show and get a swap space to sell their parts at no charge especially if they were none club members? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

....or they can just get off their wallets and cough up $25 bucks. I guarantee you one thing, the membership cost is a whole lot cheaper than the E-bay commissions!
