My 70 230 cyl 3spd got 19mpg with 100k on it. That is good compared to todays 6cyls.

From one of the questions in the listing, there's a fan shroud that's not installed, which explains the apparent distance between the fan and radiator. Not sure about the mag wheels though - if there was ever a Nova that deserved to have dog dishes that's the one.

The car in the article was a three speed manual, but the Ebay one is an automatic (Powerglide?) - uphill grades or headwinds might be an adventure. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif

More than likely that Automatic is a "Torque Drive" transmission which is an automatic but has to be shifted from low to high and back to low. Torque Drive trans is a 2 speed but not the typical Powerglide. They were installed in 4 cylinder and alot of 6 cylinder Novas.

not really. my wifes 2006 rav4 4 cylinder with about double the hp that nova mill had with about 2000 MORE lbs weight AND 4wd gets 31 mpg on the highway and 23 city

My Mercury Mariner all wheel drive gets 31 Hyw and 22 town.

Well, I was heading south on 95 at 80mph and only had three gears. Two really. One to one on the final 308.
