Looks good Tim, the light coverage looks very nice.
I think the heater hose fitting in the Waterpump was installed after engine paint. If I feel I need to add paint typically I will use an airbrush with engine paint so I can lightly hit the areas and don't get the coverage too thick. |
Looks awesome!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! |
The trans is here, the shifter is adjusted (installed the 65 shifter arms for a shorter throw), and now everything is installed or at least mocked up. I suspect an install is in the cards today or tomorrow.

This project is coming to an end (at least for now). I replaced all of the suspension bushings along with all new ball joints, tie rods, idler, etc. The timing is set, engine is tuned, brakes are bled, and all appears to be working as it should. Put the hood on, get it aligned, get the parts store alternator out of it, and start cranking on some miles. Should be a fun summer!

Very nice end result. This one will get lots of attention everywhere it goes.

‘64 FI Coupe
Hi Tim,
I just want to say that this diamond in the rough found the perfect place to be rehabilitated. When I saw this Stingray on Craigslist in SoCal, I flipped. You’ve done exactly what should have been done to this car by saving the worn look while correctly restoring the mechanics. I would never paint this car, as it would blend in with all the rest. It’s a unique, one of a kind, as found example. Thanks for all the details you’ve shared on a Cool Rare Automobile. Chris. |
Couldn’t have said that better than Chris said. Tim, you nailed it! I absolutely love how this car was preserved! I look forward to seeing updates of the miles getting put on it this summer.
|
|
Man, you are brave for putting it on there. I hope it sells for $250k!

Hi Tim,
Good luck! Great ad, too! :cool2::biggthumpup: |
Oh Baby, if that test drive video doesn’t blow your dress up, I don’t know what will.
You know from our phone conversation that I really dig this car. I’d leave it as is, so I hope the new owner does just that. Tim, you did a thorough mechanical job on this car and now you’ve done a thorough BaT auction write up with the vids. Good Luck, Chris. |
Excellant ad

I love you always show the people what they want to see in your videos.... You're going to LOVE driving this car because the motor is sorted and hauls!! Good luck with the sale Tim...

I then reconsidered thinking it may be a bit too much:eek2: |
Just read your description and saw that AMS rebuilt the engine. Pretty cool, they did a 350 for me in 1992 for my first car (still own it). Great budget engine that still runs great to this day, and survived my high school days!
