Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Found these at a wrecking yard in Rhode Island. We picked up a Chevelle to drive home and went here to get a spare tire. I wish we had more time to look around the area as I saw a few old cars in driveways and yards.
A couple 'Vairs for Kasey. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...oadtrip011.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...oadtrip010.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...oadtrip013.jpg |

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Looks like a GM A-body to me but the color has got me fooled. Maybe an Olds? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Wouldn't be a Cuda with a splatter painted trunk. It would be body colored and that looks like the GM factory splatter finish.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
It's definetly an "A" body. by coincidence I took the shelf board out of the 72 chevelle last night, easy give away is the punch outs for the defroster/blower.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
It's a 71 or 72 Chevelle, Citrus green (faded)
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I don't think the 71 and 72 Chevelles had these brackets that are pointed out in red below.

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I think it is a 68-69 Olds Cutlass but the color has me questioning that. Verdoro Green?
compare here and here |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I think you may be right Rick after seeing the first picture you linked. Like you say, an unusual color for the Olds if that is it.
|
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
My guess would have been a 71-72 Skylark Convertible. They made quite a few in this color.
Dan. |
Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Cant be a convertible with an upper package tray and speaker mounting holes. That's where the top mechanism would go.

[b] When we were in high school, we took a push button 413 out of a Chrysler that looked like this and
put it in a '41 Willys that I had bought from a local body shop for $35!! - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z035.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z037.jpg - - 300 Series - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z005.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z020.jpg - - I guess the Monte I saw on the hook a couple weeks ago wasn't this one that still sits on Rt. 100 just north of Eagle. - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z014.jpg - - What the?? - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z012.jpg - - '53 Ford P/U - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z008.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z009.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z010.jpg - - This Vair was parked here almost 15 years ago - It still is amazingly complete down to the hub caps! - - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z015.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z017.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...27435/z018.jpg - - This is not really rotting, but is my friend Earl's daily driver. Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
Glenn that is one awsome truck! I think that I had seen that a couple of years ago. I don't remember what was in the bed though, but it was cool! May have been a flat head with 3 2's?

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I know the owner of the red “fire truck” as he calls it. No motor or trans in the truck. Body sits on a 80s Ford truck frame. I tried to sell the truck for him a few years ago, no luck……

Re: ROTTING MUSCLECARS
I found this in Westerly, RI today on the way home. The writing indicates it had belonged to Card Chevrolet, I think they are still in the Eastern Part of Conn. I can not tell if the paint is a faded Red or Hugger Orange, possibly indicating it was used in the late 60's or early 70's.
