I was hoping to save the original paint but its just past being a good idea https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif It is starting to peck with rust in particular below the belt trim. It does have a quarter size hole at the underside of each quarter. It will need to be sealed to keep it from getting more damage or I'll be chasing it for ever. [/ QUOTE ] That rust isn't going anywhere. As long as it doesn't see much weather (mainly salt or continuous moisture), it won't get worse. I've seen cars stay like that for years. |

It has a pretty cool sticker collection in the trunk. The one in the center says it all. [/ QUOTE ] That sounds like it could be Linda Vaughan's motto https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Great find, Pat....keep us posted on the progress https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif And to whoever it was that asked, yes, the L79 was available in the 67 Malibu convertible. |
Re: 1967 Malibu L79

Re: 1967 Malibu L79
you can still paint it, but I would try the rust sauce and see what it looks like, it may turn out real nice and a little airbrush action make it a nice driver.

The motor and transmission have been removed for cleaning and inspection. I had to take out the radiator and have it tested and repaired in needed anyway. I have a question about the M21's vin stamp. It does'nt match up with the font style of the engine stamp? I have no doubt it's the original as it matches the POP and was evident it had never been out before. Are the two font style stamps typical for Chevelle Baltimore builds?
