'57 Chevy Fleetside Pickup with 1.3 miles sold for ~$40k. It wasn't that nice.

I watched the auction on History Channel and I could not believe the prices. I thought for sure that the proxy bids on-line were shill bidders and prices would be less than bid on-line. People went crazy for rotted cars/trucks.

Apparently many of the cars/trucks had missing radiators, trim, tail gates from vandals/thieves over the years. What is everyone's opinion on what these prices do to the market for similar condition cars?
