Larry, those two aluminum pieces hold down the rubber mat, or carpet in the backseat area. They go below the rear window side panels. Schonye

I didn't know that chev wielded on the blocks till I saw this one. Just a small place and it would only make the head gasket seal a little better.

BTY this is the numbers matching block.

Last pic today... Side shot. (this is the way I got it)

Some one in the past sprayed black paint on it to try to stop the surface rust. Sure makes it look like hell.

The Rear wheel wells are totally gone both sides. Only major rust in the whole car except for the spot on the trunks R lower corner and under the taillights.

I really hate to have to change the entire quarter panel. Thinking about scabing in a repair just big enought to eliminate the rusted out area's.

Please share your thoughts on this with me. I would like to just repair the problems and repaint this car and keep it as close to a "surivor" as I can. There are just not very many cars like this around anymore and it would be a shame to over restore it. I am sure that there are those of you, that would like to see what one looks like from the factory and that has not been messed with any more than necessary.

Please feel free to voice your opinion on this subject.

Thanks guys for your interest and stay tuned for more to come...

Pantera;

I am glad you went for the car.

Bezel 3949603 is for a 68 and was removed from service parts in 11-68. Probably since it was superseeded by the new version used in 69. 3949604 was the RH side. I would like to get a picture of 3914780 and a double check of the part number since I can not find it anywhere.

Thanks,
Greg
