Mark,

-------Not doubting what you say at all (well maybe a little), but could it just have been an Impala wagon with a 427/390 and 4yanker. Same car, and still very cool, just without the SS part. This would make a whole bunch more sense, even though I know some strange stuff has gotten out of GM. Maybe some SS emblems were attached at some time?...........Bill S

That is possible, He was the second owner when he brought the car/wagon in 1975. It had the SS emblems on the fenders and grill, it also had the SS steering wheel shroud. White with a black gut,390 posi, rally wheels, bucket seats, console, fat sway bars front and rear. What a neat wagon to cruise down the shore in.

My buddy Jim has a pretty cool wagon that has got to be somewhat unique in it's own right. It's a '62 Falcon 2 door wagon, straight 6 with a factory 4 speed on the floor. The trans is something called a "Dagenham" which was supposedly only available in the Futura Sport Coupe. I guess the trans was manufactured in Dagenham England, so that's how it get's it's name. It's got a reverse lock out shifter just like an early Mustang, and some people have speculated that the car may have been a sort of guinea pig for Ford to test out the combo for the upcoming Mustang platform. I think that may be a bit of a stretch, but it's a cool and certainly unique car for sure. Looks like all it needs is a vintage wooden longboard hangin' out of the back. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Here is a neat wagon that I saw for sale at Vette Fest in Nov 2003 that was all original. The car was sold new at Burt Chevrolet in CO. and still had the emblem for them on back complete with all paperwork.
