Keith Richards looks fine in that photo. Nolte, on the other hand, looks like a mud slide.

Wow...this isn't fair!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif
I had to work all day and missed out on the fun...God...I was on the floor laughing at the "burnout photos".Too funny, Seattle Sam! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif Sam Griffith's Chevelle is AWESOME...I saw him coming from about 100 yards away...what a sweet ride. Sam, that was good thinking making sure you drove down the "Corvettes Only row" really slowly...then finding a place to park. Lots of people were ready to check out the car before you even parked it! BTW, Bill Pritchard wins the prize! Sam, you were right. The people on this site are awesome. Finally, A really big thank you to Steve and his whole crew in LV. They were nice enough to store my car there over the summer months so that I'd have an extra space in my garage to park my truck while it was so hot out! Just kidding...Actually Steve and Bob went out of their way to help me out with some issues that I was having with the Chevelle...which was around the same time that I had a few deaths in my family. It is truly unbelieveable how cool both these guys are...and how lucky our hobby is to have them. BTW, Steve is fully versed in the proper break in procedures for the Chevelle...a bit of this https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif with some of this, too! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif Hey Steve...I want pictures, too! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Can't we just keep Bruce's Chevelle through SEMA and use it as a Taxi ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif [/ QUOTE ] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif There will be NO Arby wrappers in my car...and no naked "Bob's" either...save that for the rentals! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif |

[ QUOTE ] Car is a '69 dusk blue (51 51) 300 Deluxe Hardtop with the SS396 option, L78, M22, KK rear, chambered exhaust. 8,700 miles, original paint, interior, and trunk. Original drivetrain, extensive race history at Magnolia Dragway in Canton, OH area. Delivered new at Ewing Chevrolet, Canton. [/ QUOTE ] Sam, I hate you https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Wasn't the previous owner of that car registered on this board? I remember him posting on here a few times a couple years ago. A Doctor or something, somewhere in the Phoenix area? Awesome car https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif ...can I have it? [/ QUOTE ] Hey Bill - I hate you too https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif and let me think about your request https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif ! You're good Bill. I bet Bruce that someone on this site would put 2 + 2 together and figure this car out. Jim K. is the fella you referred to and what a prince of a man he is. I have been following (read lusting for) his ride for awhile now. When I first spoke to Jim I could quickly tell that he was a stand up gentlelman. A very passionate and thoughtfull enthusiast to be sure. His restoration of this car highlights his impressive talents in automotive restoration and it is ONLY a hobby for him. Jim found many of the original QA paint daubs thru out the car and was sharp enough to leave them be only placing a light coat of oil over the metal to preserve them. Front springs still had the tags on them too. Original gas tank is nearly flawless now. The car's history began very close to where I grew up which further interested me. I believe there is a bunch more history of this car to unearth which I am anxious to get started on. To say this car is a dry car is an understatement. When the original owner returned from Vietnam he bot this car purely for drag racing and a new camaro as a daily driver. He never let the 300 see moisture and went to great pains to store it in a dry environment (not easy to do in Ohio). Here are a couple of shots: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...2/DSC03356.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...efrontleft.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...2/bdf8dd9a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...2/363df81e.jpg |
