Cumby: what's the best thread on TC regarding oil analysis? I just now read about a 1/2 dozen, but none were as thorough as I'd have liked...btw, one of the threads had a less than favorable oil analysis on the Brad Penn stuff (low, low on the zddp)...also alarming was the poor performance of the 2 major cam break in compounds????

I don't hang out there as much lately. No issues, just don't take the time like I used to.

Sam, The debates over the best oil for our old cars, especially those with solid lifters, can go on forever. Rather than debate over brand names, I think the rating is the only important thing to look for. Any oil with a CI-4 Plus or CJ-4 rating will contain the best additive package for our cars. That's the oil I'm running in the '62 and the oil I'll use for break-in of the new '09 when it's done.

Found Rotella T at my local Wal-Mart, it has the rating that Verne listed above - it's going in the Deuce tonight!
