Re: FIRST BALDWIN MOTION SS 427 CHEVELLE FOUND!!!!

Marty and Joel have both contacted me. Marty is looking for a publisher. He contacted me as he knew a gentleman in Sarasota that i bought a tach off of and the guy asked me what other cars i had and when i told him, he said he knew Marty and the next thing i know Marty was emailing me and we talked about a week later. He is still gathering info, updates, history on as many Baldwin Motion cars as he can. He and Joel are going to the Amelia Island show in February 2008 and the 69 Green car as well as a few other BM cars are going to be there. I think i am going. They are interested in helping with the resto. Joel called me last Thursday and he too was very helful and wants to be involved and offered his help as needed. He likes this car as it was one of his first and he told me the story of how it got away from him and he ended up upside down in it.

1967 Chevelle

And I looked at that car today - still being restored 15 years later. Almost done. Hone-O-Drive and all. Amazing!

Interesting thread. Know the shop the car's at (Never been there though), and have the book (which is now out of print, correct?) Nice to know it's almost finished, and look forward to pictures (never asked, but hope it's the black, and not white vinyl top).

It would be even cooler for me to walk in my shop and not see it there daily but as some of you know this car was more of a build vs restoration and it's a lot of work yet to be done. Nobody wants it's completed more than me I'm pretty much a one man gang with a few other restorations underway as well. Plus I do have a life outside of my business..There's a real slim chance the car might show up unfinished but don't hold your breath!

Ricky - u do great work!!

Would be nice to see in any condition - any possibility to see pics now?

Those look like decals from NY National Speedway which was located on Long Island and saw a number of BM cars in the day.

I'm friends with Joseph Mason on Facebook as he's a first gen Camaro guy (obviously) and he's a part-time resident of Naples where I live. Haven't met in person yet, but I'm hoping this winter to get together with him as he's a great guy. Just FYI, there's a good first gen Camaro group on FB called First Gen Camaro Connection where it's kept focused on the subject and is run by a bunch of good guys who love Camaros in case anyone is interested.
