Since I am not a buyer, I won't bother Jim, but does anyone know if this car has its original engine, or trans, or rear end? I couldn't find that info in the description.

Way back when I found Yenko N579434 in a junkyard. I bought the dash and BE for $75 [those were the days..]. I eventually sold the axle to Lewis Swan when he owned #40. So the axle is technically correct, just not original to the car.

Nowhere in the ad does he claim the drivetrain is OE.

Q: Jim just wondering does the ZL1 have the original motor in it. thanks Guy - Nov-03-05

A: Guy, The car has the original transmission and rear axle. Still looking for the original engine. Thanks, Jim

Antics with semantics. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif
A "BE" coded rear end does not have a VIN stamped on it, and all COPO Camaros had "BE" stamped rear ends. If the car in question has a "BE" stamped rear end, it is an "original" COPO rear end. There are other restored COPO Camaros that have "BE" stamped rears from cars that were scraped, and are claimed to be "correct".
Parts is parts.
In one sense they are, because the "BE" was a unique code number, but since there is no VIN involved, is it any different than a carb or distributor that has the correct code? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Yeah, semantics https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif. I look at the ad and it says "The" (and I emphasize "The") original trans/rear. So, the trans will have the VIN and the rear axle should be "The" one that came with the car from Chevy and was attached by the driveshaft to "The" original trans. So, I read the ad as these two components being the ones it left the factory with. - And the beat goes on.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Best way to find out is to call Heartbeat City and ask. Dont rely of internet rumours.

Possibly what happened to me. I had them (ebay) pull an actuion "pre katrina" for a still in the crate from 1970, 69 service replacement 396 because I used "keyword" searches in the ad. I noticed that the seller in this case did the same thing. I have learned that you need to get "creative" in the description (ie, this motor was not stock in a yenko, copo and is not a 427 ZL1 etc etc) so ebay does not pull the ad. And the block was up there too! No notice, and you cannot view the old ad and contact anyone for a relist. It's still in my garage (at home, which did not flood or get looted).

Now that would be something to see a looter humping down the street with a 396 on his shoulder!!!

We were very lucky/blessed. The shop was looted. They took a durrango and a trailer that we had there and loaded up. They only took tools, compressor, computer scanner, and oddly enough, an old firebird! They left the 69 Gold LM1 alone, my personal car a x66 bought at baldwin originally, a hugger orange yenko clone, and 2 73 Z28's all untouched.

Guess I should be looking on the "PONTIAC" forum(s)? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Hello, why did Ebay end the auctions on the ZL-1 Camaro and 302 engine that was listed. Larry
