Hi,
Rebel number one has been invited to be shown at several Concours Events this year, including Hilton Head in November. We have advertised the Pair for $85,000. in an upcoming issue of "Hemmings Motor News".
I can safely say no where on Earth will you find two (2) Factory Built, Matador Red, Rebel Machines together. Especially in the Complete and Correct condition of these cars, complete also with a library full of information as well as vehicle documents. If someone wants unique, this is it. There were Only 596 Rebel Machines ever built in Factory Solid Colors, Non Red White and Blue Cars, with 17 available colors, how many were Red ? There are 9 known on the registry. 2 of them are these cars.
Thanks for looking.

Too many times I have Heard of a RED Machine that is complete and needs resto, only to find it is missing several critical components. The estimates of actual Red Machines produced by the factory is between 18 and 30. I have seen the actual factory records for total Machine production of the solid color cars and that was 596 in any one of 17 available colors. I have also seen many RED ones that have a different color code on the door tag ie: they were painted Red but not by the factory.
If you are going to attempt restoration then, Make sure it is correctly coded and is complete. There is No Parts availability for these. Just the Machine Wheels sell for 5 to 6 grand for a set of 4. That's if you can find someone willing to part with a set.
The Bakelite Carb base plate is also specific to these cars, several Vacuum fittings, We had to make one on the CNC machine out of Titanium. I can make them for others as the template is in the Computer of the CNC machine. It is Costly though. About $1000.- a copy.
Just remeber, buy as complete a Rebel Machine as possible as you have to refurbish most parts, they are not avaiable in Catalogs like Mopars and Chevys.
and GHood Luck,
Keep the Machines Alive. . .

When you saw the Rebel on a Trailer, in Ohio... It was the Week of the National AMC / Rambler Convention. It was held in Ohio. You probably saw Lots and Lots of Rebels, AMX's, Javelins, Matadors, Gremlins, Hornets, and On and On.
Tends to happen when the AMO (American Motors Owners) Association holds the National Meet.
They come out of the woodwork.
To show at an AMO Meet, you have to join the AMO, and buy the Grill Badge and display it on your car. They also get you for a fire extinguisher if you don't remember to bring one. $25 for the Fire Extinguisher, Not Bad, but good for only one fire. You know like the electrical system on British cars.
