Here's an arbitrary one...with a band most have probably not heard of...but I dig this song!

Rolled the dice and played the game for the fortune and the fame...

Which at least on KLOS FM in SoCal was always followed by this song (Thanks Rita Wilde)-also a band most probably haven't heard of:

Johnny Clueless was there
With his simulated wood grain
So I pulled up a chair
And started drinking by myself

The lead singer of this band died a horrible cancer death

So many years, since I've seen your face
But here in my heart, there's an empty space
Where you used to be

Not sure the direction of the thread, so feel frse correct but here is my second one. Hint is that the song is only 20 years old and keeps the obligatory car reference.

"Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac
Yeah, the boy's a time bomb"

Rancid, Time Bomb.

Innocence has no resistance
against a wicked counselor such as I.
Shall I lead you to my parlor,
poison offers disguised, in just your size.
You may think me altruistic,
feel my dark hypnosis closing in.

Nobody? I'll give it another day and post the answer.

"Three strange days". I want to say the band was "school of fish" or something like that?
