Re: Favorite '69 Z's we've owned
I believe Kerry Stanley's car has a flat hood if I remember correctly.

Dan, The flat hood will fit but you have to use the shortest filter. Another member here has the flat hood on his x-ram JL8 and you will see his car at MCAN, I believe his car is silver.

Re: Favorite '69 Z's we've owned
Sometimes those short filters can bite ya. There is not enough air that circulates around the carb so the carb can become flooded because the ac lid is way to close to the air breather tube in the front of the carb. Like putting your hand over the carb to flood it. Found that out on my old corvette around 3,000 rpm or so.

On my 67 Z28 with a crossram and factory cowl induction air cleaner (which is about as low as you can go), we had to raise the flat hood about 3/8 in the rear to keep it from hitting. I think functionally, it is best to use a cross ram hood. JMO, Ed

WE HAVE A STANDARD LOW PROFILE AIR CLEANER ON OUR CROSSRAM WITH THE ORIGINAL FLAT HOOD. NO CLEARANCE ISSUES. THE ENGINE IDLES AND RUNS VERY STRONG. JEFF
