"I understand these are difficult to find."
Yeah, all the retards at the dealer and tire stores destroyed them with impact guns. I don't think they are reproduced, unless it is a recent development. |

Really need off shore contact who would/could repop about 10,000 pcs ?????

Much rather see an AMERICAN contact who would/could repop about 10,000 pcs. |
Amen TDW! We as Americans need to quit sending everything overseas to get reproduced. All we get back is low priced junk and we need to keep our people working!
|
Those look like the one I got with my 74 z/28
|
If those are the lugs I'm thinking of, they would corrode and swell under the metal sleeve and you could not get the correct lug socket on them due to the sleeve being swollen...

Reproductions are available, but they are not exact in appearance, and worse yet, the tapered area that seats against the lug hole in the wheel is FAR smaller in contact area than those originals pictured above. I found out the hard way and ruined a wheel because of it

Below are pics of 1st design and 2nd design lug nuts. I believe 74Z28 still had 1st design.
Not sure when change over occurred. Many owners back in the day must have bought new lugs over the counter as OEM/Assy line lugs got abused. Vast majority of owners dont know the difference. Camaro Nationals 2nd Gen Judging is ONLY show I know of where these would be judged or looked at. 2nd Gen Z28 trim ring lesson pics while I was taking pics from my Photobucket AMES Pontiac parts site sells a repro of the 2nd design that is very acceptable and affordable for all but the most fussy owners........I've never been told why AMES didnt reproduce the very hard to find FIRST DESIGN http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Caps/Ring5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...92ndDesign.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...81stDesign.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Comparison.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...x1stAnd2nd.jpg |

And it started @ $175,but had a BIN button for the $1,150 price. Lasted 1 day, before one person bought it now. |
Mr 70/R.P. , In that EBAY ad, can you SEE where those lug nuts were in fact First Design as Ive shown above....
I'b be very interested to see the quality of car that they went on... These are so rare .....I may be wrong, but not sure if any 70+ Camaro has ever gone thru CAMARO Nationals Judging with "Born With" correct LUG NUTS. |
I captured these a few weeks back from ebay, are these the ones that ended B4 the auction end ?
|
B4 the auction ended?
Mike,Those look like the exact same ones that I posted that sold in the Buy It Now auction above. |
Maybe I am confused, which is very possible . That auction was awhile back, right ?

Just last month.
This is the auction I was referring to that ended with a BIN on it's 2nd day on Feb 16th. http://www.ebay.com/itm/23-NOS-1969-...p2047675.l2557 |
