CAMARO5 Website

Any Members here belong to the CAMARO5 Website??
Just got back from Dinner and got on the computer, went to get on the Camaro5 Website and I got a reply that "I am BANNED" and it went on to say "And you know Why" and when the BAN would be lifted "NEVER"
In alittle bit of a shock here, don't know what's going on???
I have only posted on the 1st Gen forum of what cars I have.
NEVER posted Anything on the site At All.
I enjoy visiting the site and seeing the new photos and reading the different posts.
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on at that site??
Little Confused!!!
Mark

Reprisal is the name of the game over there, while out front they look like "great guys" even sounding sorry for their sad conduct:

Perhaps they are into banning friends of Scott Settlemier, hey Mark I thaught you spent time with Scott recently and were considering a 2010 Camaro Purchase? True?

They asked me if I knew any of you guys and I said noooooo. They let me stay. Just kidding. I worked in the Oshawa complex for 41 years so the backgrounds in most of the pictures are familiar. A week or so ago, guys I know in there, told me that they were building fewer than 100 Camaros a day. They have had the line workers back since the first week of November. That is the slowest rampup I have ever seen. It seems that they are making absolutely sure that everything is right. New Camaros have been seen on the roads around here. Probably company cars out for test rides.

Re: CAMARO5 Website

I have heard many different numbers, so correct me if I'm wrong but Chevrolet has approx. 16,000 sold orders for Camaros. 99% of the buying public has yet to see one of these cars in person. With all the sold orders, as well as the orders for stock, from dealers the Camaro will be a success for GM/ Chevrolet Division.

The Camaro was a tremendous hit at the Chicago Auto Show. Even the guys from Ford and Chrysler took note. I haven't heard the final Gate tally, but attendance was more than likely up this year. Very positive news https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: CAMARO5 Website

Factory is currently building Captured Test Fleet cars. These will be used for marketing, training, and sent out to dealers so they have something on the lot for people to test drive.

These cars are either red, yellow, black or silver and dealers will eventually have 2 each. All these dealer cars will be V6 models as this is what Chevrolet needs to sell to make this car a success. Eventually, these cars will be sold off to the public as used cars.

You seem to be a person with information so please ask the Moderators there WHY?? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

And please report back...

I have asked ALL the moderators for an explanation and am waiting to hear back. I am assuming it was an error on someone's part but let's wait to hear back from them.

I asked them as well. Haven't heard back either. I would think that these cars in the Gen Auto Shippers yard would be more than "Captured Fleet" GM would want any information for revisions long before now. They don't need thousands out there for testing. A new Camaro was seen in Lindsay lately, and that is about 50 miles from Oshawa. It is probably what we call a company car but who knows. Bosses and others get to take this stuff out for drives. I'm not sure about how these arrangements are made, but preproduction vehicles do get out on the road.

I received the same banned for life B.S. message from Pro-Touring.com after letting a few idiots have it one day a year or so ago. PMS is quite the norm for many over there as well. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif Just clicked in the other day and was able to get back in for some odd reason. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

What they are doing is creating 2 V6 cars for each dealer. These will not be considered dealer stock but "loaners" to the dealerships from GM. GM wants at least one car at each dealership so customers can test drive them. If GM had made these cars dealer stock, most dealers would have sold them quickly to make a buck. This way, they can't sell them because they are not theirs to sell.

Mark recently advised me that his ability to post at Camaro 5 was restored - without any reason or notice.

SYC got this issue public - so it is a good outcome.

We do influence the hobby and many are watching. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif
