Anyone hear from Freddie i.e. Big Gear Head lately ?
 

I noticed a week ago that I hadn't seen any posts, comments or thanks from Freddie in a while. I went to his info page and he was last online on 10/23, at that time, but no recent posts from him. I sent a PM asking if he was OK, but never heard back.

Anyone in contact with him and know that he is OK ?

I have spoke with him and in constant contact. He is in need of all our prayers as he is going through a personal crisis that has taken his energies away from his passion for cars. Hoping this can get resolved soon and he can get back to a happy place in his life.

Exactly what I said to Bentley and I offered the room I need to cancel but haven't heard back.

I have sent these generous, kind offers to Freddie. Waiting for reply. I asked him to respond or to tell me so I can respond. Very kind and generous offers , which I would not expect anything less from this group of guys. Thanks.

I'll just fill you in on what's been going on. My wife left me on Oct 7th and I've been devastated. Can't sleep, eat or do much of anything. I haven't been able to pick up a wrench since she left. It was my fault that she left and I can't do anything to persuade her to give me another chance. I was always getting on to her for something and she couldn't take it anymore. We have been married for 34 years and been together for 39 years. She was always my best friend.

She has drained the bank account each week paying credit card bills, so I'm not able to do much. I'll be loosing the house too. She says she isn't going after my car or anything in my shop, so I can thank her for that.

Maybe a trip to Chicago would do me good.

Come on up Saturday. You have a ticket and a room, should you decide to stay late and not need to drive back that night.

Sorry to hear the partnership went south. It takes a big man to come out and say that Freddie, and I can only trust that things will work out in one way or another as they always do. Hopefully you can travel up to Chi-Town and enjoy some time with others who obviously care about your well being. (lots to be said in that)

No doubt, things will be different...but they will work themselves out. FWIW, some of my best friends are single later in life and they're all digging it now.

I think others may want to contribute to the “Freddie Fund” to get him to the show. Post on here that you want to help. Then, PM Freddie with your offers and settle up when he arrives.

I have offered Freddie a ride if he can make it to Ohio. I have offered to put him up for the night on Thursday and get an early start out on Friday morn. I have a room he can stay in Friday night so we can get an early start Sat. Unless someone else has a room for Friday , he will have to use a couch as I have another guy going already. But that’s the offer.
I’ve heard others want to kick in gas and food $$. So go ahead

Thanks Dave. I can't fly because I don't have that special driver's license, but Bentley has offered to let me ride with him. I'd like to meet more people this year. I've always spent most of my time looking at the cars, but this time I'd like to be around more people. I'm a quiet person and I have trouble socializing, which is why I'm not usually in a group of people. two seven zero five four three four five five three.

You might check on the special drivers license requirement deal as I thought they had delayed it do to Covid. Glad you are coming.

I have offered Freddie a place to stay Friday night. But my buddy and I are sharing a room and Freddie will have to get a rollaway or use couch. If someone wants to get him a room Friday , walking distance to show, that is fine.

OK... Somebody take charge of booking him a room at one of the host hotels and we will pay you back for it.

I don't know how I'm ever going to thank all of you for this. I will truly enjoy this trip because of all that you have done to make it happen. I hope to meet all of you in person and thank you. I'll be driving to Bentley's house after work today and spend the night with him. Then we will drive up to Chicago Friday. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you.
