Re: My "shop find" Bullitt Stang!
Thanks, guys!! Going to dig around for the buildsheet today and get some roller tires installed.
Supertracker, I know my posts are boring, and I'll try to lighten it up next time. Big box of parts just showed up for that T-Bird, so need to jump on that, update the thread, jump back in on Super Bee, update thread. Oh, I think I have to go to work somewhere in there too. Maybe I can just call in too busy for work? Scheduling: "This is Kristen, how can I help you First Officer Molnar?" Me: "Yeah, um, Hi. Listen, I know I have a trip tomorrow, but, frankly, I'm just too busy to come in to work." Scheduling: "OK, call us when you're not so busy" Me: "Great, thanks. Almost didn't have enoough time to make the call. I have two threads on Yenko.net I needed to update!" Re: My "shop find" Bullitt Stang!
HA! understood Mikey! Kelly says that's OK, cause as a Flight Attendant, she gets to screw with both of us!!!!
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...-new_tires.jpg Here we are after I was able to break loose the two frozen wheels. Mud dawbers locked up the right rear and front left wheels! Headed to get temporary rubber put on so I can roll her up onto the lift. Oh, and a new hood and decklid (the only rotted pieces on this car!) so it'll be ready to go on the resto in another year after the Bee. IIRC, they do not get the decal. What chew trying to do here, boy? Start one of them arguments?? Cheers |

Re: My "shop find" Bullitt Stang!
Nah!! That's doing it backwards! But you'll be happy to know that the one area that was severely rotted, the hood, was replaced today but I zapped out the support structure under the hood and saved the skin! That'll make some nice garage art!
Something unique I found is the Body Buck Tag. Attached to the radiator support with one sheet metal screw, it lists my VIN and options my car came with. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...915_070254.jpg I was under the impression that these were attached after paint but before the engine bay was painted black. Well, after I soaked my tag in some general purpose solvent for a bit, I was excited to see a few "neat" things... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...916_002449.jpg The tag shows clearly that it has the Highland Green paint on it, and this is actually a Mercury Door tag used as my Body Buck Tag!!! The tag decodes to my car with the VIN listed, 63B is the Luxury Deluxe Interior, R is Highland Green, and 409 is the PB (paint/body) sequence/gate number. Line #2 has 6F, Saddle Interior, PB for Power Brakes. Next lines shows GT for the GT group, ST for the AM-8Track Stereo, and SC for Safety Convenience Group. The last line shows FDS which is the Fold Down Seat. The upside down 4 and H-2 maybe inspector's stamps Apparently, the Detroit plant where my car was built was on a "recycling" kick, according to one book on the Body Tag subject for Mustangs, for a short period of time and they made the tags out of surplus door tags from the other makes. Cougars and Mustangs came down the same line. So how cool is that? WAY COOL!!!! Cheers Dave |

https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...916_003830.jpg New hood installed. Very happy with the alignment even though it's aftermarket. I pick up the Torque Thurst wheels tomorrow and then the car can get rolled onto the lift for storage. Then it's back onto the Bee Cheers Dave |

Now that I have the TTD rollers on there, and no engine in the engine bay, and of course, the Bullitt plate on the front, sort of looks like it's chargin' the streets of San Fran!!! Oh, look what's up in the air behind it? Looks like the chaser becomes the chasee with a Mopar hot on it's tail!!!! Up onto the lift it goes for another year! Cheers |

Re: My "shop find" Bullitt Stang!
And just found the buildsheet! I now have pretty much all the paperwork for the car. I'm going to talk with Kevin Marti Monday about making a new sheet since he can do that for 68s, and I have all the rest of the supporting documentation for it as well. Another cool find! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...112_112546.jpg

Re: My "shop find" Bullitt Stang!
Thanks, Frank. Here it is under the carpet. If that line guy just put it up on the seat riser just a little more.... . Could have been perfect!
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dscn2025.jpg While on the lift I started to clean up the back axle and found this factory marking too. Re: My "shop find" Bullitt Stang!
I had a 67 GT Fastback, Deluxe interior, 4spd, overhead console, 4spd, A/C, Acapulco Blue. Loved that car, but it was a small block. I am pretty excited about having a factory S-Code 4spd car and can't wait to start in on it.
Beautiful 67! |

Re: My "shop find" Bullitt Stang!
A Quad-fecta (I'm pretty sure that's a word.... ) of pictures that I got with the car. This is when it was registered in the 80s in Ohio. It had a "Day 2" exhaust installed that exited in front of the rear wheels like the 65 Shelbys had. Matter of fact, I still have the exhaust system with Ford Part number stickers on it!

I think we all know the answer to that!!!! I think he needs to do a respectable Chevelle SS or Malibu, 69 of course, then those two will have to come to the Chevelle show every August. Howz that sound ? Kelly in the parking lot and Gin and tonics, and Grady...OMG... Thinks about Dave.. Mike |
