Old drag photos
Heres a 69 428 SCJ 4 speed Cobra, Pennfield Dragway, NB back in the day. this car still exists and is mint, although the color was changed to black. It's a bench seat car and was sold new in Fredericton NB at Wood Motors. I here the car is for sale now, don't know the price.

Re: Old drag photos
Thanks for sharing. I see you are still in NB. My family is up in Centreville and I went to UNB. Only kid with a 68 Mustang in the High School parking lot in the early 80's. The Shelby vert is groovy man

Re: Old drag photos
Kerry, you're a long way from home. I'm assuming you grew up in Centreville area, so do you know Donnie Piper? Big time Chevelle lover, and his brother had a 68 hemi RR. (2 were sold in Centreville around the same time.)
Barry PS- it's going down to -3F tonight. |

Yes grew up in the big village of Centreville lol. Came to the US with Caterpillar in 89. I have a business also called The Cobra Jet Den. |
Re: Old drag photos
So you're a Cobra Jet expert, yes? I'm going to look at a 69 428 CJ Mustang next weekend. Where are the rust issues on these cars? Any particular things I should be looking for? ( I'm pretty much a GM guy.
Yes, I recognize the name Cyril Giberson, although I've never met him. |
Re: Old drag photos
They are unibody as you likely know. Fender apron tops at the shock towers, torque boxes, and rear frame rails at the front leaf area are prone. Everything is cheap except the labor lol. Send me an email and I can help with the numbers stuff.

Another shot of Richard Charboneau's Ford. He went on to race this wagon and was one of the winningest Fords in his class for many years.
Another well known Ford owned by Clyde Birch. |
